so if i have a amp the is rated

RMS Power 12.5 VDC Input
RMS Power 12.5 VDC
2 Ohm Load 90 w x 2
4 Ohm Load 45 w x 2
Bridged 4 Ohm Load 180 w

and speakers rated at

4 or 8 ohm (assume 4ohm)

Maximum Amplifier Power (WATTS RMS)posted_image

100rms

would i be running them under powered?

you say speakers how many speakers are you hooking up... is this amp a 2 channel or 4 channel amp?

if its a 2 channel amp with an O/P of 45x2 RMS and you are running speakers that recommend 100 Watts RMS then yes you are underpowering them....

Realize, of course, that "underpowering" won't hurt anything as long as you don't overdrive the amp and cause clipping.  What is the make/model of your amp and speakers?
