i just purchased a kenwood KDC MP625 headunit for my 93 accord SE.  I hooked all the wires up correctly, checked all my rca conncections, trouble shooted the headunit manual and still i recieve no sound from my speakers.  The car has a stock bose amplifier that ran all four speakers. I am thinking that the reason i get no sound is because of that stock amp, not recognizing the input of the headunit.  Do i need to unhook that amplifier, and wire the speakers off of the new headunit? Is there anything else that could be causing the problem, could I have a bad headunit?

P.S  - The headunit powers up fine, and shows no sign of problem except for the fact that there is no sound coming out of my speakers.

Thanks for the help in advance!!!

you have to hook up the remote wire on your deck to turn on the stock amp.

so if i do not want to use the stock amp, and just run the front speakers off of my deck do i need to remove the amp completely and rewire?

Thanks

did you use a differential convertor between the Kenwood and that Bose amp?

if you want to bypass the Bose amp you'll have to replace the speakers as well... which isnt a bad thing..... then you'll just run wiring from the Kenwood to your speakers.....

Waht Kevin is talking about is a adaptor that will allow the Kenwood to be used with the Bose amp. Without it, no worky. The other option is to replace the speakers and rewire them to the Kenwood cd player. (your best bet). Wear rubber gloves when disposing of the Bose system and when you place the equipoment in the trash bin, make sure the lid is properly secured, we don't need the Bose crap making a break for freedom.
