My speakers on the Right front and back made a very odd noise and then quit working. They will work when they are at 1/2 max sound. They don't sound blown. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

I posted that it was the Right, I meant the left. No I don't have an amplified system. It is all factory.

Some of the factory systems are amplified. Most Exploders are for that fact. The factory amp is hiding behind the right rear quarter panel towards the back seat end of the panel. Check to see if your vehicle is one of these. Any chance that this is a simple balance issue on the headunit?

I will check that. The balance and fade have all been adjusted. I took the stereo out of the dash and made sure that all of the wires were attatched, took the door panel off on the left side to check the speaker and wires. All looked ok.  The other day when I made a right hand turn the speakers popped and then quit working.

sounds like a possible pinch or short in the wiring... grab your meter and look for a short to ground.....
