I own a 1993 Eddie Bauer 2 Door.
The stock stereo (tape deck) was installed until today.
When I pulled out the wiring harness and checked the wire colors against the chart posted on this site, I found out something strange. The wires do not correspond to the chart (at all). To double check, I pulled out a speaker (these wires matched). somewhere in the car, the speaker wires get changed over.
The color I found were:
Brown
Light Green
Light Blue
Yellow
White w/ red stripe
White w/ orange stripe
Purple w/ white stripe
Blue w/ Black stripe
And about seven strands of non insulated, non-wound wires. All of this was bundled in a gray insulating sheath.
Has anybody seen this before?
Please help
Marshall
Um..I hope you didn't cut the wire harness off. Just get the proper adapter for your truck.
If your stock radio has "DNR" printed on it then get you will need either
this one or
this one.
If it doesn't then
this one should work. If you have already cut the wires off the reattach the plug and the proper adapter.

Duane...
If you think you're confused, imagine how you feel.

i think the pin out of the OEM radio connector is more important than the actual color of the wire... which is why i always suggest just springing the 10 bucks for the proper harness

Yep,
I cut it off.
I am a GI living in Germany so the local stores don't carry the wiring harness.
This is gonna be interesteing...
any other advice?
It sounds like its a premium sound radio(grey sheath is input to amp)find the amp it should be under rear seat on pass side the speaker wires will be plugged into the amp
