haha, ok, those Audiobahn's will thump (if they dont burn apart their voicecoils) but solobaric sqare subs hit way harder than a conventional speaker

canceled my deal gonna have to look for something else. Now i have kicker solo baric l7 12's so i knew they could bang also had audiobahn but always with an custum made enclosure and they always were tight but i hate the amps . pos heat up so damn quick that its an real waste of money because they should know by now chrome does not deflect heat very good..........

gee u'd think. Unfortunately Audiobahn has been falling down lower and lower in quality for quite a while. A few years back audiobahn made some good subs, nothing specatular but they were good. Once competition really got heated, JL started dropping out super subs, Kicker released the solo baric squares, and Rockford dropped the beat with the HX2 and TRF series competition subs, Audiobahn started sacraficing functionality for looks. If you've noticed, audiobahn subs look sweet, their flames are awsome and the immortal series subs just drop ur jaw. Unfortunately, if u pump the rated, or event the RMS power into these subs for any length of time you'll notice that audiobahn uses second grade material for their internal working parts, thusly, you have a great looking sub, thats funcationality sucks. I think you've made the best move your gona make by saying no to audiobahn, so remember kiddies, just say no to drugs and audiobahn and you'll be set posted_image

Yeah, the kickers definatly better, no contest. xtreamcc mentioned that older audiobahn stuff is better. I know a guy who has a old 15" audiobahn in his escort, he hits mid 140's with that thing, it gets insane loud. But as for the new stuff, its crap.

i have two aw1000q's and i'm powering them with a 1600 watt audiobahn amp. the amp has 2 cooling fans. though chrome doesn't dispell the heat that well, the internal fans over compensate. i have 4 fans exchanging air in the trunk with air in the car. 2 fans blowing in and 2 out. i completely agree that the new stuff sucks ass. they lost me on the flame stuff. but i hit mid 140's and they've never skipped a beat. I went into some extensive trunk work boxing & dimensions. i even fiberglassed the inside of the box to make it stronger because i blew the side off of my original generic box years ago. maybe your power got hot because you ran too little gauge to your power and ground. but back in the old school audiobahn when kicker dropped competition, audiobahn made their linear compression series. You'ld have to hear it to believe it. I'v see shattered windows from those audiobahns, but recently, kicker would kick audiobahn to the curb. that's my 2 cents.

Point of fact...... Most broken windows come from windows being improperly mounted and vibrating against a piece of exposed metal, such as side windows on hinges, or its due to windows that have been improperly sealed and the window in question will vibrate against the metal frame its mounted in and thats what causes i to break. To actually break a window due to sheer spl pressure you must hit over approx. 155 db+. That is to say if the glass is all safty glass. If its like the original windows in a 1981 cutlass or something like that then they are brittle from years of exposure and are far more easy to break.
