I have been running 3 10's for a few years and have been contemplating a system change lately because I need more BASS. Can 2 12's pound as hard or harder than 3 10's? Good subs like JL 6 or 7, MTX 8500 or 9500, Eclipse aluminum or titaniums, etc. The easiest for me to get would be the 9500's. I am extrememly disappointed with my new 8000 series 10's and retract my earlier praise of them. I was very satisfied with the old ones but my new ones suck. And the glue is bubbling out the front where the cone is together. Anyone? ------------- BOOM, BOOM, BOOM BOOM....

u dont need more bass pursay, ur just going deft slowly and need to increase the volume output so it sounds good to you, I know the feeling. As far as 2 12's out bangin 3 10's, it all depends on the setup. 1 12" JL w7, will destroy 3 10" MTX8000 with the proper setup. The 8500 is basically just a longer throwing 8000 where as the 9500 is a redeigned 8500 with event longer, but much improved throw capabilities. They still cant touch the JL's in sound qualities at high volumes, but they can potentially out perform the JL's as I've stated in other posts, the 9500 is a damn good sub, it hits quite a bit louder than a JLw7, BUT, u turn the volume way up and u'll hear that distortion. Anyway, I'd say if u want something better than 3 8000's, go with a pair of 9500's or w6v2's and if u can swing it, get the w7's.

Actually the 9500 was out 8 months before the launch of the 800 so saying it is a redesigned 8500 isnt quite true being the 9500 was develpoed and released first. I am sure if you power a set of 9500's properly you will be happy with the output

I am currently powering the three 8000 series off of a 1200.1 kicker that was tested to put out 1550 watts at 1 ohm. I am running it at 1.3 ohms. I have been contemplating adding a second 1200.1 or a Phoenix Gold Octane R 30.0:0. I will probably switch to phoenix gold amps since I can get nearly 3000 watts at 2 ohms, out of 1 unit. How do the w6v2's compare to the 9500's. I need it REALLY LOUD without distortion. Also, the entire car is multi-layered with dynamat x-treme so there are no rattles which really makes a sub shine or not, since there are no rattles to simulate the bass. I can get 2 w6v2's for $600, 2 9500's for $650, or 2 w7's for $900. The w7's would probably need a huge box too, right? I've got about 3.5-4 cu ft for enclosure volume. ------------- BOOM, BOOM, BOOM BOOM....

The 9500's will be louder and the W7's should sound cleaner so whats more important to you.

What, no pic of the Titanium Eclipse. Ohhhh, the camera battery died right when the picture was about to be taken, I see now. I would consider this driver as well. All 3 are mighty fine.

i agree.... the 9500 are some nasty things....put 2 in a s-10....im sure it wasnt on my side for health reasons...thank got it wasnt my truck...but its true...distortion will show its little ugly face when the volume gets higher.....but hell....they look cool as hell....weigh a ton too
