Whats up guys? Just bought the Pioneer DEH-P8MP, Im not intrested in using it in 60W mode at all I have an autotek 4 channel for my mids and highs, do I still need to run the constant directly to the battery, or should I be fine hooking it up the normal way?

I dont know, if you can the internal amp off like an Alpine, then go ahead and hook to the factory lead, ifnot, i would still run to at least an ignition wire

I have been playing around with that deck some, and no you dont have to run a direct cable to he battery. If you hook up to the factory power wire the deck automaticly switched its self down to a low power mode which is confirmed by the screen saying 40W under the volume bar on the display screen.
