I was checking out this phoenix gold R30.0:1 monoblock. It's supposed to put out 3000 watts at 2 ohms. Anyone seen one or have experience with one? I was also looking at the orion 2500d but it needs to be at 1ohm to get 2500 watts. I am either going to replace my 8000 sreies MTX's with 2 JL10W7's, W6's, or 12" 9500 MTX's and I need more power. I like the idea of the R30.0:1 for 3000 watts in the same space as my kicker 1200.1. My other option is to add the second 1200.1 I had earlier planned too add to my system.

Octanes are PG's entry level amps designed for the mass market but are pretty decent performers. The 30.1 is a Class D amp rated at (I believe) 2200 watts RMS into 2 ohms/1100 watts into 4 ohms. The 3000 watts is a peak number. No doubt it can hit 3K, but it cannot sustain it. And it is 2-ohm stable and cannot handle anything lower. The 30.1 is a rare amp. It was not made for very long and is no longer a shipping model. Heat problems forced PG to stop building it from what I've read.

Support the12volt.comSo what other choices are out there to get more power than my 1200.1 Kicker? I could add another one, but I'd like to find something that would steadily put out at least 2000 watts. A friend tested mine at 1.3 ohms and it actually puts out 1550 watts at peak. I know I will need more to run the 2 9500's that I am going to use to replace my 3 8000 series subs.
