i bought an amp and put it in my girls car. then she sold the car so i took it out. it has been sittin in my room since march. i sold it the otherday and now the kid is telling me it won't work. i can't give him his money back because i made a payment on my glock. and i don't have anyway of knowing if he messed it up. what should i do? anybody know how to fix bazooka amps?

How to fic it depends soley on the problem. With out knowing exactly whats wrong there is no way to tell exactly how to fix it. Its also quite possible that if it worked when you took it out and now it doesnt it is either the kid didnt hook it up right so it didnt work or the kid hooked it up wrong and blew it up. It is doubtful it is your fault although not impossible

I agree with Ravendarat, there is no way that you can verify if the amp was working when you gave it to him or if he blew it. One the other hand, you have a nice piece of plastic that can set him straight.. (Violence is not the key, but sometimes it does work wonders.)

yeah, but it still angers me....... i'll look at it this weekend. if it is blown, do you guys think we should go half on fixing it? or should i get violent?  (jk)

i always hook it up for the person to insure it is working.what kind of amp is it.and what did he hook it to.i sold an amp to a guy and i hooked it up for him,he kept turning the gain up all the way and turning the volume up full blast beyond distortion and made the protection light kept coming on til it quit working.it ended up a fight where we worked at.

Personally I wouldnt do anything for him, used equipment is almost always sold as is and a buyer should undersand that. Also he has to understand that since you cant know what happened to the amp after it left your house you cant be responsible for it, unless it was installed by a professional. I am assuming it wasnt so Id say he is SOL.

I agree with Ravendarat but there are some stipulations. If you told him that it worked when you sold it to him you are kind of in a situation. Since you can't prove that he damaged the amp or that it was working when he left with it, your situation becomes a he/she said issue. And since the amp is now not working he becomes a liability with his claims since he can prove it is not working and you have no verification that it was. The main thing is do you want to give him his money back and how far is he willing to take this situation.

if it ends up having to be repaired, , have the service person tell you what he think caused the problem, , ,usually most skilled technicians can tell if the positve and negative have been hooked up backwards, , and possibly tell you it was done recently by looking for dust in the area and such.

well i looked at it, and it doesn't work, but i haven't had time to pull the cover off.... everything looks ok from the outside... i guess he'll have to take it somewhere
