I would like to buy a decent mp3 HU that controls a mp3 changer of the same brand.

What is a good choice for around $450 for the pair. I don't like the FM modulated ones.

Thanks.

You could try the Alpine CHA-S634, and the Alpine CDM-9821, and use adaptor so the changer and head-unit will be compatible with each other. Just my opinion, but I think its worthless to buy cd changers (even the MP3 type) when you can buy a nice MP3 compatible head-unit instead (like a higher end Eclipse or Alpine), and just store your cds in a nice case upfront where they are easily accesible.

Thanks for all the views and responses. This morning I pulled the trigger and purchased

Kenwood KDC-X679 and a 10GB Music Keg. I can now take this pair along with my music collection

all the way to my grave.

Nice choice, those music kegs are very cool. I've been thinking of getting one. How much did you pay for it??

$222 for the HU and $200 for the Keg, All through ebay.

My alternate choice was Neo Car Jukebox, which directly connects to Kenwood HU also.

I plan on encoding my entire CD collection in wma 9 format.
