has anyone here had a set of the new MTX 9500 subs,i heard they are alot better than the jl w7's.i pulled up test results and i've seen the w7's and not yet seen the 9500's.i am opening my stereo shop in a few months,i like MTX and the cerwin-vega stroker pro's.but i would like to get some good opinions,any opinions guys?

man, I dont know how many opinions on this sub I've given but.... the 9500 is a good sub. Its louder and hits higher volumes than the w7 BUT.... there's that big but..... the w7, event the 8" version, will have like 4 or 5 times better sound quality at max volume than any size of the 9500. The motor structure and cone build of the 9500 are simular to standard subs, thats why they have the low price tag. The w7 has all that JL motor technology put into it enabling it to hit wild volumes w/o all the distortion of almost every other brand on the market. All in all, the 9500 is an excellent sub, but comparing it to the w7... there's just too many differences in the actual equipment to make a good comparison and anything u find listed by manufatures or retailers is usually very bias towards their product of choice. Anyway, hope this helped.
