I'm guessing you want SPL, so I'd suggest the Kicker L7s, The MTX 9500s, and the Brahmas.

Definatly the Kicker L7s, MMATS Juggernauts also hit very hard, but they might be a bit out of your pricerange.

The Alpine Type-X 12's are suppost to be pretty good and are right in that price range

I think the Type Xs are aimed more towards the SQ crowd then SPL.

The hardest hitting sub ive heard was a Digital Designs 15". It was in the trunk of a brand new pontiac bonnieville. One of the loudest systems I have heard and it was only one sub. Not sure on the model or price though.

The alpine type-X sub hasnet really been given a calling yet, , but alpine calls it a SPL sub, , and i can vouch for that.   Ever seen a body flex so much you needed to get the panel pushed back in by a body shop?? , , Lol  ya, no joke, , my ex-co installer has a X-12 to a mrd-m1000 in a big 1.3 cube box,, , man, , his truck is demolished now, , his steering column moves up and down a inch, , he had to make a floating set up to keep his deck from skipping.    but for the money, , i think theres louder.

i definitely think l7's or mtx 9500's . the 9500's you can get off ebay for 350-400 each, get some 12's, thats all you'll probably need with a real good amp.

Yeah the eclipse 8100 and 9100 serries (aluminum and titanium) are exceptionally loud due to thier large excursion but are built more for SQ and the price reflects that, if you want lots of noise go with 6 W O's or Sony's or something.  There is no replacement for diplacement.

i agree ... 9500's.... i put 2 12's in my audio store's show truck powerd by two 1501d's......and we cracked windows....made the box just a little bit bigger than the spec b/c mtx suggests always using a vented box....  installed it and almost stopped my heart...nasty nasty subs.......put em in a band pass?  youll cause some damage

Anybody heard the 8500 mtx's ? Just wondering how hard they pound compared to the 9500's?

What about the HX2 Fosgates? I heard they pound pretty hard.

Dude those are nothing compared to  two 12" 9500 MTX
This will ruin your car interior Due to the impact of the Vibration. This is the true SPL & SQ!

Also three 13.5 w7 WOW!! Lets just say , !stay out of the car when you turn up the volume!

If you power the 9500's properly and throw them in a ported box they are damn near untouchable

Brahmas come from our friends in Seattle, Adire Audio. RE is Resonant Engineering, a licensee of Adire's truly amazing XBL^2 technology that does wonderful things for driver linearity, especially way out at the edge of excursion.

I work for neither, but love both.

The RFL is a one note wonder and cant be used for regualar music listening, I have heard the Solo-x and was extremely unimpressed, Orion Drivers have always been super solid and their High End Drivers are a force to be delt with and as far as earthquake goes, I havent heard a new earthquake sub in a few years now, just all old stuff. As I said the 9500's are damn near untouchable but with that being said, everything I have seen about the Bramaha's say they should be louder same goes for the XXX being that it uses the same motor, I however havent ever heard either driver. I may have to buy a brahama just as a play toy.
