I was wondering how to get 2 ohms out of a dual 2ohm sub? The brahma says you can wire it for 1/2/4ohms. I would like to get 2 ohms out of each sub and the run them parallel for 1 ohm.

You can't.  The Adire site is giving possible impedances for multiple subs.  If you have two 2 ohm DVC's, wire them each in series for 4 ohms, then parallel for a 2 ohm load on the amp.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Thanks Steve

I couldn't think of any way that it was possible.

Actually, it CAN be done with a single driver. If the VCs are wired in series, that gives you one 4 ohm load. If you wire the VCs, one to each channel of a STEREO amp, that presents a 2 ohm load, and if you wire the VCs in parallel, that will give you one 1 ohm option.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I have only one 1200.1 mono amp right now. When I get the second amp I will be wiring each sub for 1 ohm.

I was just confused about the brahma website saying you could wire the dual 2 ohm sub for 1/2/4 ohms. But thats not what the website means as explained to me by Stevedart above.

And when you do get a second amp You'll be using a distroblock with a crossover right?
The amp will be  a mono amp i assume?

or how are you going to split the RCA and Remote wire?

Do you have a diagram or can you explain how you will run the wire. Because i could not think of any way .

The second amp will be an identical 1200.1 mono kicker. I could use the amp strapping circuit to connect them both together, but I will probably run each seperately to be in stereo.

For dist block, I don't need it because I have 2 runs of 0/1 ga  and a run of 8ga for my 300.4 that runs my mids and tweets.  I will be adding another run of 0/1ga for full length ground to lower resistance.

For RCA I have 3 RCA's running to rear Front/Rear/Sub and the Kicker has a preamp output to jump a short RCA to the second 1200.1.

Remote wire will have a relay since I will have 3 amps instead of 2. It would probably work without, but I'd rather do it right.

For Crossover, I always use amps onboard x-overs. Works fine for me.

Here is what it looks like now:posted_image
