If I had the choice between tweeters and 6.5 door speakers which one should I go with

as far as playing highs so I can hear vocal over my extra loud bass?

If I get tweeters I'd keep my stock 6.5s

If I get 6.5s I'd be replacing my stock 6.5s

The 6.5" driver will be playing the vocals.

Why not go with a 6.5 component set which will give you both; the tweeter and the 6.5 mid. They come with matched crossovers and the sound quality is outstanding.
