Here's one for you. I have a 1998 Dodge Stratus with the OEM AM/FM/Cassette running through the factory amp. Nothing says "Infinity" so I assume it's a 'tweener (between base and Infinity. I installed an Alpine CD head unit using the Scosche harness and did not remove or bypass the amp. The radio plays great through all six speakers on both AM and FM; but the CD has almost no volume, plays very low volume and only through the small tweeters in the dash. Any thoughts?

Is there an amp turn on lead in the harness? If so is it connected to the power antenna lead or the amp turn on lead on your Alpine head-unit? The amp turn on lead coming out of your deck should be the color blue probobly.

The unit's "swithch on" wire (it is blue) is connected to the power antenna lead in the harness. I see where you're going and will give that a try, I don't have a power antenna anyway. But could this explain the radio being OK and the CD not?

many power antenna circuits are "tuner activated" meaning they are designed to bring the antenna down when not listening to radio.... this causes a problem when using this circuit as a remote turn on lead, as it will shut the amp off when not listening to radio... make sure to use a dedicated amp remote lead or else use an acc source as your amp remote circuit.....

That makes sense. I'll try it. Thanks to both of you, krerry and customsuburb.
