reading the info at the hifonics web site they claim their amps can handle a 1 ohm load on their monoblock amps, brutus amps. has anyone out there actually ran a 1 ohm load on these amps, can they actually handle that low of a load for an extended period of time i mean for the price i might just consider getting a pair of these amps, that is if they can really handle a 1ohm load. i have 12inch kicker comp vrs with dual 2ohm voice coils.

yes. These amps push 1 Ohm and they do it quite well. I used a BX1500D to power a pair of HX2 10's and they would slam like there's no tomarrow. Be sure to give them adequate ventilation as they do get hot.

at 1 ohm, i'm sure those pull a lot of current.  and u mentioned getting 2?  better get an alternator, yellow top, and capacitors.

What would happen if you ran a 1 ohm stable mono amp at .5 ohms? Would it just get hot and shut down? Or what?

Depends on the construction, some amps like my Alpine Class D shut down when they sense more than normal current draw. Most will get real hot and shut down though. Some will quit all together. I don't real reccommend it.

battery and alt. are a good idea, and for a cap, you can get a single 10 farrad at a good price. don't get the round ones, unless you need it for you lights. use a bat cap for you audio needs

Man..two amps drawing a 1-ohm load..sounds like a lot of stress on your car's electrical system.
