Hi, I finally have a general idea of what I'm looking for in a head unit. I have narrowed down my choices to the Alpine CDA-9833 , JVC Aresenal KD-AR7000 or the Sony CDX-M8805X. Can anyone comment on any of these 3 head units or recommend something similar?

I have an Alpine CDA-9835 and its very similar to the 9833 you have listed except it has a little more power and a different display.  If the 9833 is anything like the 9835, and i think they are,  then you'll have a ton of features that cater to anything about your sound that you could imagine plus the sound quality is amazing to begin with.  But thats just my opinion, people on here will tell you to go listen at a store to see what you like which i think is valuable advice.

My personal opinion is the Alpine is the only choice between those three.  I have seen way too many JVC and Sony heads fail, and I think the sound quality from JVC leaves a lot to be desired.  But that's just me.

Thanks for the opinions. :) That really helps my decision a little. I was actually going to go with the alpine, but I thought I would toss a few competetively priced ones in there to see if anyone had anything to say about them. Now hopefully one of the aftermarket learning IR devices will work with this so my steering controls will work too.

Yeah, definately stay away from the sony., , as for the diff between the cda-9833 and the 9835 is that the 9835 has the biolite display.

The Clarion DXZ745MP Is a killer Unit also. Alpine is Great dont get me wrong but check out the Clarion before you make your final decision. It's in about the same price range with a little beter cosmetics (personaly).
