I want to upgrade the speakers in my 04 Envoy with a Bose/XM unit.  I know I can use a PAC adapter for the sub amp.  Is there any problem upgrading the door speakers?  If no problems, what sizes fit well?

Thanks,

Chuck

As far as I can tell from blose literature, they don't feel that upgrades are desirable, so they made the system so hellish as to prevent that.  Either rip out every last piece of bose equipment in your vehicle and set the stuff afire, or leave it alone.  That's what I understand them to say, anyway.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

yea stevdart is correct. i know people that tried to upgrade speakers and subs in factory bose systems and they just ended up sounding like crap. i guess some good engineering to make you spend more money. the best thing to do if you want to upgrade is (if you want the stock deck) bypass the stock amplifier and add an aftermarket one or put in a new deck, speakers, subwoofer, and amplifier. but if you just want to spend money on new speakers you will be much better off saving it considering with the stock amp the sound is the best its gonna get
