I am having reception issues with my antennae.  I have a Pioneer DEH-P840MP HU and I am getting this "whine" noise when I listen to only am channels.  I checked the antennae mast and it seems ok.  I don't know if I have to disconnect it from my radio to see if it is a ground issue or if my altenator is giving me the problems.  I read that if your battery is old and is making your alt. work harder, it can cause that interference.  I don't know how valid that is, but i have a '96 sentra and have the factory battery still in it.  I don't get the whine everywhere, it is only at certain locations and goes away when I make right hand turns.  I tried to give as much details as possible.  If someone can give me some guidance I'd appreciate it.  Thanks

Try re-grounding the unit first.

You say the noise "goes away when I make right hand turns."  This is an indication of a bad ground, maybe a bad ground at the point where the antenna mounts to the vehicle, or a bad engine ground strap.
