I've been to alot of competitions as of late and have noticed most people are putting their ports on the driver side of the enclosure. Everyone has told me my truck would hit harder if I moved my port from the center to the outside of the box! Is this true?? Thanks for the help

Yea.  Putting it on the side of the box gives more room between the sub and the port therefore creating more port velocity and make it louder.  Not sure about port velocity thing but put your port on one side and sub on the other side.
