What do i need to get to send 14.4 volts to my amps ? New battery ? or does it have to do with the alternator ?

You need to upgrade your alternator

To one that puts our more amperage ? or is there a higher volt rating ? will it affect my other components, like fry em ?

you need to get one that put out a higher amperage, it won't hurt anything...just make your electrical system stronger...remember up grade your power and grounds coming from your alternator to 4 guage.

when the car is running, you are (or should be) getting 14.4 volts. this is the voltage you should be seeing at the battery terminals, because this is the nominal charge voltage for a 12 volt battery. if you are NOT seeing 14.2 to 14.4 volts, it is likely that you do not have enough alternator to keep up with your existing accessory load, and you should then upgrade your alternator. put in the highest current one you can afford (and that will fit)

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

then you need to continue to upgrade...either wire guage, or get even a bigger alternator, but like haemphyst said, just get the biggest one you can, and then you will be good to go

13.8 volts is the average voltage at the battery.

14.4 is what the alternator should put out when running, under 14 volts and the alternator doesn't meet specs (as a mechanic when we saw under 14 volts while running we had to run a load test)

13.8/13.9 is the average voltage at the battery, I concur with customsuburb

You might get a little over 14 if you are speeding down the highway, but if your going average speed down a road with your accesories running, or if your idling with nothing running then 13.8 is a good average voltage.

To add to what was said, with newer, upgraded alternators, they usually tend to not put out as much power idling as you'd think.  You usually have to get the car going to a decent RPM to get the power you paid for.

So, if you plan to be showing this stuff off to your buddies in the driveway, be sure to check out the amps this thing can put out at idle speeds, not your highway speeds.
