i beleive that the rear of the vehicle is the popular place to put a sub in these cars

i'm not 100% on how its set up in your car...but my suggestion would be to look on the net for enclosures for your car, see where they go, and start from there

or go on car domain and see where other 98 firebird owners have their subs,

that is of course...someone else on here cant help you, sorry if i didn't at all!!!

If you want to keep your t-tops in the stock mounting location, then you are left with three areas. One is behind the rear seat, a long slender box will fit right there, size is about 1.5 cu.ft. if I remeber right. Next is the spare tire wheel well, a custom fabricated box is needed here as wella s the loss of the spare tire. Lastly is the opposite corner, this is where the factory Bose sub is. If it is there, remove the Bose enclosure and replace it with one made by Q-Logic or fabricated out of mdf and fibreglass. A single 10" sub can be placed in this area.

I had a '97 T/A in which I removed the T-top retainers from the rear well and installed a pre-made fitted enclosure which fit very well. As for T-top storage, a rasied support was fabricated to sit over the amp. In result, the T-tops laid horizontal behind the rear seat on top of the support over the amp. It looked awesome.
