Anyone know where the OEM location is for the factory amp in a 1999 tahoe?  Also what about the specs on it and the factory speakers?  I know chevy doesnt usually put great apeakers in their rides unless you've got a Bose...which I am pretty sure I dont.  I've got an Coustic 70w amp I might want to try swapping the OEM with.  70 is'nt much more probably than the factory, but if the dpeakers will handle it, then I might be worth it.

Thanks!

Look under the dash, on the side of your brake pedal, there is a silver box with heat sinks, that is the factory amplifier.

Not sure as to what the specs are on it though, maybe someone else can help you on that one. I wouldn't think that its anymore than about 25-40 watts. But may be wrong.

That factory amp wouldn't put out more then 8 or 10 watts continuously. Post up the specs of your amp please. If its 70 watts RMS per channel it would blow those factory speakers out of the door panel though.
