I have a 96 accord..with 2 phoenix gold 15's bumpin in the trunk..currently i'm using a sealed box..but i was told if i ported the box id get more boom out of it. Im lookin for as much bass as i can get..what would be the better choice..(bandpass is out of the question.)

any info will help ..thanks

Stick with the sealed box especially with 15's. The ported box will make the 15's sound muddled near the low end while the sealed has a smoother frequency response at the same spot. I don't think that you will notice the SPL difference between the two but the SQ will be better in a sealed box.

if you were to change to a ported box, you show see a very noticible difference. but as jeff said, it will not be as clean sounding. a ported box will produce the db's, but will have a boomier sound to it. alot also has to do with your choice of port tuning. if this is your every day driver, and you want clean sound, leave it sealed, but if you want to compete or whatever ported is the way to go.
