Last night I wnt to a drive in movie theater here in town. At said drive in, instead of giving you little boxes to put in your window, the broadcast the audio across the FM waves. Now, the goal is to make you car sound like a movie theater, not an easy task, I know. The movie was Alien vs. Predator. Not that great of a movie.

If you have the cance to do somthing like this, DO IT! You will learn so much about your sound system.

You mean they are broadcasting that FM signal in surround? posted_image

Another way to do it is buy some movie soundtracks.  My favorite so far is the Gladiator soundtrack, followed closely by the Fifth Element soundtrack.  Also check out Mickey Hart's Planet Drum.  It is a great recording offering very precise imaging cues spanning the entire frequency range.  Track 7 has a really large earth drum that resonates at 32 Hz when hit.  It will definitely give your sub(s) a workout.

FM broadcast probably isn't the way to test SQ.  But I agree with Steven, big movie scores can be fantastic.  Braveheart and the Matrix Revolutions are excellent.
