Anyone have any info. on resetting the SRS (airbag) light on a 2004 VW GTI? I have posted a DIY for this on a few Honda forums but need help with a friend's VW.

Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 1 minute and then reconnecting it.

off to VW you go, it can only be reset by their computer.

What a freakin' scam! I've found VAGCOM modules to reset SRS and other indicators for Audi/VW vehicles for around $200. My Honda requires a scrap piece of wire and 10 seconds of your time to reset the SRS indicator. VW dealer (Puente Hills, CA) is being a jacka$$ about resetting the light. I'm pretty sure I know why it's on. I pulled the gauge cluster to tap the VSS wire for the navigation.
