Plexiglass in front of subs ?

If i front mount a piece of plexiglass hovering about an inch or two above my subs will there be anything wierd happening ? I plan on cutting an 11 inch diameter piece to fit the size of the sub

are you cutting holes in it or anything? it should be fine as long as its secured enough to not viberate.
