I am debating wether or no to buy the alpine type x subs. I have a orion xtreme 1400 amp and am not sure if it will push 2 of these very well. also if anyone has any opinions on this sub id like to hear them. thanx

800 watts rms  to each sub would move them dam well still.  Im assuming your amp is 1 ohm stable?

I am very very very impressed with this sub, completely exceded my expectations.  My friend has one, and is feeding it 1000rms in a 1.4 cube sealed box and his body flex's, steering column jumps up and down a couple inches, he needed to fab up a floating deck set up so it wouldn't skip it anymore.  It requires 1" mdf as a MINIMUM for box building, 2 layers of 3/4" is reccomended, and you need to use those bolts and the nuts that counter sink themselves into the wood, , theres no way 8 drywall screws can hold it in the box.

He had 2 R-12's in the same truck before with 500 rms each, and they didn't come close to the volume the 1 X-12 puts out.  Very hard to believe until you test it
