Sorry guys im new here but i was surfing the net trying to find somebody who knew a little bit about '96 ford explorers and their wiring. I'm trying to hook up a cd player into my Explorer which still had the factory cassette player in it so i finally got that out and me being as stupid as i am cut the harnesses off of the wires instead of leaving them on and just getting the add-on harnesses. So now i'm trying to figure out which wires are which because every graph that i've found so far does not match the colors of the wires. If anyone knows anything about this matter i beg you to share it with me.

Thank you

-------------
JP

i would recommend that you reattach the wiring harness and buy a kit

one thing you can check, but i don't know ford stereos are, on most factory stereos they have the color code keys for the wiring somewhere on the actual stereo. that is how it was for the one's i have put in. but then again that was only like 5.

I would like to thank: switch_hitter, racer427, promodeepcycle, and hightek for helping me with these seemingly neverending project. I had alot of problems at the begining but everything each one of you said gave me more and more hints....and then my very last problem was i didn't know that there are like 3 different fuses for the radio in my 96 explorer and it turns out one of them was blown, that's why whenever i hooked up my "memory" (constant) wire it wouldn't keep the settings in it after i turned it off and on again. Anyway It is finished and looks great! Thanks guys!
