Whenever the amp turns on the fuses blow right away.  Wondering what the problem could be?

from my experience(which is probably half as much as some of you guys) everytime i have delt with an amp thats fuse blows right away the amp was blown due to the impedance being to low for the amp...ie    wiring your speakers down to a 1 ohm load, and putting them on an amp thats only 2 ohm stable stereo.

I know that the subs that i hooked up are only a 2ohm load and the amp is two ohm stable. So what else could be the problem?

a bad earth (is the metal clean under the earth, no paint, no dust no nothing except for metal???)

the power cable might be touching metal somewhere due to a sharp metal edge cutting through the insulation

could also be sony keeping up with its excellent reputation for making crappy products.

More than likely your power supply transistors are blown.

Do what cd2478 said and double check your power wire for breaks to see if its contacting metal anywere. And make sure your ground is making good contact on a sanded to bare metal surface.  Then throw out the sony amp

The thing is that we didn't change any of the power or ground connection and everything was working fine before we hooked up the other two subs.  I guess the power supply transitors are toast.  So i guess sony make crappy amps.

yes, yes they do!

but check your wiring anyway, a fray in the insulation causing the power cable to earth itself can happen anytime, anywhere if it wasnt properly installed (aka rubber grommets used when passing wires thru holes etc!)

it sounds to me like you've blown the output drivers ( 1 or many )...if it only blows when you remote it on that pretty much excludes it being a problem in the power supply....hate to say it but it may be time to have it serviced.....
