I am having a problem with my stock head unit.

Here is my system set up so far:

Speaker level converter (speaker to RCA)>Audiocontrol Overdrive (line driver)>Xtant A4004>Boston Pro 6.53 front

Xtant A4004 also runs an Xtant A series 10" from the rear channels (RCA's run from front channels "output" into rear channels "input")

Here is my question.  When I have the balance control on the stock head unit in the "middle", it cuts the power WAY down to the sub.  When I turn it either right or left, the sub level is much louder but of course the front stage is greatly reduced for the opposite side.  WHY IS IT DOING THIS???  Is there any cure for this other than a new head unit (I know that would be best but trying to make do on a budget for a couple of months!).

Thanks for any advice to make this sound as good as I can for now!

it sounds like the polarity on your loc are incorrect. that problem usually happens when there are polarity problems. try switching your leads at your loc.
