My EQ and Headunit mounted together.. there is a peice of metal screwed safly into the sides of my deck and on the other end of the metal its screwed into the eq... Im getting engine noise now.. bad ground... ------------- Hunter S. Thompson for sheriff

It could be a bad ground. Check all of your ground wires and see if they have solid connections. If they do remove your EQ and try running your radio directly to your amps. Your EQ might have a cold soldier on the inside.

I put in a new ground using a 10Ga. The engine noise is gone.. But the CD spinning noise is still there.. I think the cdplayer motor is interfering with the eq chassie. But at the same time i dont think it is because when i unplugged the rca's going to the amp @ the EQ, then put them straight to the Receiver.. I still get the noise.. ------------- Hunter S. The CD spinning noise, could be caused by interference. Try separating your cd player from your EQ and seeing if the noise stops. If it does it's just interence if it does not it's something else. Not to familiar with the cd spinning noise but others on here may know about it and can help.

How do you have it mounted? Is the EQ on top or bottom of the radio. If it is on the top, try reversing it. I had the same problem with my Sony XEC-500 indash crossover. Once I intalled it under the radio all interference went away.

The Eq is mounted right on top of the cd player.. With two small peices of sheet metal screwed into both sides of the chassies.. the eq and headunit both have screwes holes to allow me to do it.. ------------- Hunter S. Thompson for sheriff

Like I said, just try flipping them. I was just working on my Borther-in-laws system in his TA and he has a pioneer eq mounted under the radio. He was also experiencing noise and it went away after he flipped the 2 units.

The problem was one of my RCA inputs were bent and resting on the frame of the amp.. Problem solved! there was actually No issue with the GND issues and the 2 front components ------------- Hunter S. Thompson for sheriff
