Hi I jus bought myself and oldie  it's a 1949 desoto custom my question is does anyone know where i can get information of the wiring for the stereo

Stereo in '49?  But anyway, are you trying to get the original AM radio working?

If you are putting in an aftermarket radio, I would suggest just running new wires. The old wires (if they are even still there) are probably corroded past the point to where they would be of any use.

yes you need to make new harness for your head unit, and the rest off the car to. That is if it's not fully restored. otherwise start from scratch. If you don't feel that you can do that, see a pro. good luck with your project.
