YESS, you have the same subs as i do, I put mine in a sealed box and they sound beautiful and I'm only runnin 200 watts to each at the moment. When i get my fiberglass enclousures done i'll be runnin 360rms to each, and good lord do they hit with 360 watts. Excellent choice my man, I love mine.

10s are an awsome sub for rock and alternative but only in a sealed box. Sealed alows great responce and awesome mid to high bass. With rock you deff need the responce with the always canging frequencys. Ported boxes tend to tune lower and sound great for long drawn notes. When it comes to punchy bass ported boxes tend to sound really muddy.

Well, I listen to rock and alternative mostly and 10's are my choice the the style. I am currently building a box for them that will run right around .62 cft per side and I really hope these things rock. I will be driving them with at 500 watt RMS mono amp so, that should be pleanty of power for them I hope. I have heard that they are pretty power hungry.

For rock definatly go with a sealed box, not to mention the fact that they are soooo much easier to make.

ported boxes work just fine for rock if they are vented correctly.    as long as you stay with a wide tuning freq.   and dont have a massive vent mach you will be fine. I will listen to a rap cd and then throw in tool, NIN, pantera and everything sounds just fine

Is that all the space you have availible to you, cause thats pretty small for those subs, I usually put them in 1.2 cubic foot sealed boxes when they were current. In a box that small they are gonna be power hungry, as they are in general anyways. Either way though it should sound good.

MTX doesn't recomend over a 1 cf box per sub. I have built it to their recomended size of .63cf per side and will be tuning them in around 40hz. I have used a sound deadening spray on the inner walls of the box to (hopefully reduce accoustic resonense. If it doesn't sound good and hit hard, then I will just build a bigger box for them.

I know what MTX recomends on their sheets, but I am telling you man, I have been dealing the stuff for 3 years and I am telling you strait from the horses mouth, what they recomend is actually the absolute smallest internal dimensions you can possibly get away with, and not nessasarily Ideal.

so what  size would you reccomend for 1 12 9500?

I would recommend a box a little larger than the .63 cubic ft.  Since, you are using the specs to tune the box I would go a little larger because the .63 would limit your bass.  Also, after building 4 different sealed enclosuers for MTX's the larger boxes normally go deeper and are more detailed when coming to lower bass notes.

I would say go with about .88 cubic ft.  You can fill the current box that you have that should give you a little more bass.  If you want to get into deep ground shaking tones build a 1 cub box and you will definitely feel the bass.

For the 9500 I would go exactly with the specs that the web site has listed.  These subs are made to really pound and to go up against some good competition.  Taking this info. in hand MTX has tested these subs to really try to out do there comp.

If you go with a box a little bigger than they recomend you will be ok.  The MTX boxes are normally built for somewhat stiff bass notes..

OK guy's, here are the calculations for the box. 28"wide x 13" deep x 12" height .  - the 3/4" divider and that should be pretty close to .88 Cubic ft.

Ok, actual Cubic ft. will be .8647 per side.
