umm these amps are very nice,    but most are banned by usaci.   when you have an amp that is 50x2 at 4 ohm and 3600 x 1 at 2 ohm    hmmmm cheater amp a little to the extreme.     what amp are you talk about

I was looking into these amps also because one of the distributors in my area just started carrying them and so far people had nothing but good things to say about them. How do they manage to get the CDX-20A to rate 25W @ 4ohms and 3600W @ 2ohms?

I used to have a Lanzar 50c that was 25W @ 4ohms and 800W @ 1/2ohm which makes more sense than a 3575W jump from 4 to 2ohms. USACI has to have a good reason to ban these amps. Anyone seen an article on this?

i used to have it but i dont any more....it was cut and dry unless clif designs willingly re-rated thier amps they were going to be banned, their wasent even any convo about usaci re rating the amp into a high class.. I myself run old memphis hc 50s and 100's       the 50 is 25x2@4 50x2@2 100X2@1 200x2@1/2    the 100 is 50x2@4 100X2@2 200x2@1 and 400x2@1/2     not really a cheater amp just a quality amp that can bridge low

They dont, they are just very very very veery very underrated.

Lanzar is crap and is very very very very very overated. Thats why they have those power specs (they rate their amps at 1000 watts continuous then stick a 30 amp fuse on them...that might get you around 300 watts continuous or so but not 1000)

I agree...current Lanzar amps in production ARE CRAP. But the old (around 96' or so) Lanzar OPTI series amps ain't nothin to **** with.

The 50c has been put to the test many times and capable of running about as many woofers you can throw at it down to 400W x 2 @ 1/4 ohm. Down that low you need some fans and on hell of a clean ground.

Anyone have experience with the clif design amps which is what this post was started for?

The new Opti's have also been benched tested to put out their actual ratings and more.
