I just installed a JVC KD-G300 head unit. There is a ground wire on the harness which I attached to the firewall. There is also a place to ground the chassis of the unit. No wire or screw is provided with the unit for this, but the spot is there and is labeled as ground connection. Should a second ground be provided there. What is the difference between the ground in the wiring harness and the one to the chassis? ( I didn't wire the chassis ground, and it sounds fine so far.) Thanks, TomBrooklyn

normally there is no difference, they go to the same place inside the radio at some point, but if you happen to fuse open the ground foil in the harness path, the unit goes dead and you'll read 12 volts on the chassis of the radio as it is now ungrounded.....
