i sold my friend my hifonics z1000d its rated at 1000 watts at 1 ohm, i had them on my two diamonds cm3 12s bridged to a 1 ohm load and it ran no sweat, my friend has it on 2 m6 mk2 a series above mind he said he was riding bumping and the amp went in to protect mode so he cut the cd player off and turn it on again know he said he can't even turn his cd player up to twenty before the amp swicthes in to protect mode, is it possible he fired the amp i thought hifonics made good amps i had an old warrior  and that amp was no punk what happen

He installed something wrong.  Look at the details of the wiring and report back.

He probably blew one of his subs and that is sending the amp into protection.

now he is saying that it only does it when it sits in the sun all day he has a eclispe and the amp sits right in the sun under the back window i told him to move it to the trunk and hit me back after a day
