Is one better then the other or does one serve a diff. purpose. Does on require more then the other this is what I would like to know.

Give an example of an amp that you're referring to as a high current amp.

Here are 2 examples       everyday a/b amp   50x2@4 100x2@2        most high current amps like the hc<--high current series of us amps and memphis hc50,hc100     50x2@4 100x2@2 200x2@1 100x1@4 200x2@2 400x2@1 800x1@1/2

Okay, in laymen's terms (easy for me because that's what I am), there is no difference in installation of either class of amplifier.  A high current amp is only high current if it is being used at the lowest ohm loads, i.e., at or below 2 ohm mono or 1 ohm stereo.  You have to find out what power the amp will need and supply the proper wiring and alternator.  A high current amp will require exactly the same power and wiring as a typical A/B amp if both are run at a 4 ohm load.

Thanks very much that is exactly what I needed to know stevdart the other stuff was a little complicated but this did the trick I appreciate it. And i was talking about the clif designs 960 hc but i am only going to run it at 2 ohms
