A friend gave me this amp,because he owed me $20. Its a Power Acoustik LT480. The specs says it is 100 watts rms. My ? is it worth my effort to even connect it or should I try to sell it to get my money. I don't know anything about this brand. Any help would be great.

Do a search on Google and find out as much as you can about it, then sell it on fleabay at a 19.99 starting price with another 20 for shipping. Some fool will bid on it. You might end up doubling your money.

lol, that sounds like an older power acoustik model. I'm using a SPL2 series amp which is newer that I got off a friend cuz he owed me money too.... seems to be a pattern there. Anyway, if it only puts out 100w RMS its probably not worth your time unless u have a 100w RMS sub or something like some mid/highs to hook it up to. I have a sub that can handle 800 watts, so I actually use, and do like, my repayment amplifier.

trade it for a dog.... and shoot the dog !! Power Acoustik, Legacy, Pyramid, Boss, etc, etc... all seem to have been regurgitated from the same cesspool.... personally i'd take the 20 bucks....... like stevdart said dump it on ebay (ebay shoppers deserve what they get !! ) and you may even make a buck..... ------------- Kevin Gerry

It didn't even make it to ebay. I was at Wal Mart today in the automotive section. Some kid was looking at an Xplode amp. I told him about the amp & he offered me $60 for it. Well I guess I don't have to tell anybody but I took the money & ran with it.. Now I can start looking for a good set of components for around $200. Thanks for all the help.

What about performance teknique? It sounds like a cheap brand but a friend of mine has a pair of these that supposedly output 600W RMS but he cant power 2 RF 12P24's with just one. I bought a piramid amp once for about 30 bucks with like 400 max and it sounded like it RMSed less than the HU. They are junk. ------------- Poly Dollies

Pyramid amps are so crappy.... I dont think there "1000W" amps even put out 100W.
