im building my sub box to kicker specs. but instead of firing my sloted ports through the front i would like to place them on the side of the box. problem is that i have about 5 to 6 inches of space between the box and the side of the cab. will this be to tight of an air gap for the port or should i just port them through the front. also what big difference does slot porting have over round porting. the port is 3"x12.5"x20.5"long.

as a rule of thumb I try to keep my ports and subs on the same plane, and try to keep them from being blocked by any obstical. If you have room do cented slot ports and fire up or forward in a truck, between the seats unless you have a bench then I would go up
