I have a 2002 Hyundai Elantra.

I replaced my factory radio with an Alpine radio recently and noticed that noise when my cruise control is on or my phone is charging is heard on my AM stations.

I had similar symptoms with my original radio... so I don't think its the Alpine...

Also, my AM reception in poor, stations my brother gets no problem are pretty much static for me.
The FM reception seems to be OK.
I am wondering if I should take the ground out of the harness and ground the radio seperate from the harness.

Has anyone else experienced the cruise control noise or poor AM???

It anyone has any ideas.... that would be great!.

there may be a factory signal amplifier... did you hook up the power antenna wire in the harness you used?  you may need to power up a signal amp for the AM to come in properly...

we see this with a lot of the VW's as well.....

Check the antenna's ground to the body. If it has more than 1/2 ohm of resistance to ground, you will get noise and poor reception on AM.

Add Buick to that list as well.
