Hey guys. I currently have 2 kicker l7 12's runnign off a 2000 watt amp, and they hit hard. But I'm ready to play with the big dogs, and want more. I w3as thinking of adding 2 more subs to my setup, but i can't decide between 2 kicker cvr 18's or if 2 more l7 12's or 15's would be better. I'm looking for the most spl possible, probably playing the 2 12's regularly, and the 2 others only for comps. I have never heard an 18 in a car before, and so i was wondering if it was worth it (compared to a l7 15). Btw, these are going to be in a mustang hatchback :) Thanks a lot.

personally I'd suggest getting 2 more 12's. The problem with mixing subwoofer sizes is that it takes some pretty good crossover skills and a good ear with the equalizer to keep from causing cancelation. The 2 18's and 2 12's would probably give you your best range of output but the 4 12's would prevent any size related cancilations. Anyway, my vote is for the 4 12's.

I would also go with the 4 12's. But if you are dead set on having different sizes, then the more difference in size the easier it will be to select and set crossovers to prevent any interference or cancellation problems.

I also say stick to the same sizes. If you want the most spl than sell off your 2 12's and buy 4 18's :) No replacement for displacment when it comes to spl
