Hi, my home theater sub...was damaged (the speaker itself) ....it used to be pretty expensive sub ...my question is it gonna be ok if I replace speaker with sub for car for example with JL or smth else is it gonna be a good sound or not at all????

Yes it can be replaced by a car sub depending on the impedence of the sub. If the home sub is 8ohms, the car sub you choose also needs to be 8ohms.

It could be done, but probably not with ideal results.  There are some differences in the two beyond impedance.  For one thing, usually the Fs of a car sub is higher because of the natural low end boosting you get in a vehicle.  Also, you are working from a set enclosure size, and whatever driver you choose might not work well in it.  Maybe if you could give us the brand and model number of the home sub you have, plus the dimentions and type of enclosure it uses, we could give you a good recomendation.  Also please give us information on the type of amplifier used to power the subwoofer.

this is active sub can't tell exactly dimentions of enclosure it's around 1.00-1.2cu. ft ported the brand name is RBH can't tell model...sorry..,.connected to the Sony Receiver str-da200es
