I have been using 1/4" particle board to make False Floors and Facias for a while...The only prob I have is that when you cut the particle board it chips and flakes and I wind up having to do a lot of sanding and reworking to get the edges smooth enough to carpet or vinyl...

What other types of thin wood would you suggest looking at for making little pannels like that...Something Cheap and sturdy...I have tried Panneling but it chips and flakes also...

Someone told me to use what they called "Wiggle Board" they couldnt tell me the actual name of the stuff...Anyone know of some to use????

1/4" Luan plywood (flooring underlayment).  Cheap and easy to work with.  I would use plywood in just about any situation except an actual speaker cabinet, because it is stronger than particle or flake board, and better to work with.   And use exterior grade 1/4" where moisture is a possible problem.  But wiggle board is something I haven't heard of.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
