im replacing a full range speaker in an infinity home enclosure that houses four speaks probably coming from a passive crossover. the blown speak is 6 ohms. would replacing the blown speaker with a 4 ohm car speaker mess up anything? i dont have a good source for 6ohm speakers, thats it why i ask.

Yes it would mess things up (it would lower the ohm load on your amp, but in not sure what, if it would do something, to your crossover). The best thing to do is order a new driver from Infinity.

I'd just stick one in and see what it sounds like.  The crossover would be affected by the lower ohm load and would crossover at a different frequency, though. Does this full-range speaker actually get crossed over?   And the speaker might be louder in comparison to the rest.  But I'm willing to bet it wouldn't harm the power source.

But Parts Express has a handful of  6 ohm speakers.  What size is it?

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
