will 6x9's fit in the rear of a 98' mitsu eclipse?
crutchfield says that factory size is 6.5 inch, is that right? i have a customer who brought in 6x9's but i dont want to tear apart the car to find out they wont fit..

I recently installed 6x9's in a 1997 Eclipse. I doubt there is a speaker size difference for the 98. They dropped right in for me. Good luck.

Some will come with 6.5 and some will have 6x9. It depends on the stereo that was installed from the dealer. You can always pull it apart and check. It would only take a few minutes to do it(I have a 97). Or you could shine a flashlight through the grill.

As 97gss said, some have 6x9's and some have 6.5's. It doesn't take much to trim the 6.5 holes for the 6x9's.
