Help!

I have a '76 Eldorado convertible.  I had an after market "secret audio" radio/cd player installed.  I had a annoying whine (assumed from the alternator) in both the radio and cd player.  I have changed the ground to no avail.

I recently had the battery and alternator changed due to other problems.  The whine in the radio is now gone....but still very previlent  when playing cd's.

The cd player is in the trunk.  Amplifier/tuner in the glove box.  Power was taken from the original radio/8track connecting to the dash and rear speakers (located n the back seat) all have been replaced with new.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Replace the engine and battery ground cables.  Make sure the HU and CD player grounds are good to the chassis and is using the car's wiring harness.

Thanks...............I think both have been done and already checked....but I'll check again.  There is also a filter on the amplifier power lead....but doesn't help much either way.  Is there anything else I can do?

Try an RCA type ground loop isolator.  Will probably take out the whine with the cost of a slight bit of low end.
