I currently have a cd receiver in a 1996 Plymouth Neon, someone owned the care before I did and didn't use a wiring harness, so I hooked up the wire according to the Plymouth Neon owners manual, the radio will come one and play but will not hold memory to the radio, have the yellow memory wire hooked up, and also the dome lights will not work when I have the key to the ignition off and will only work when I have the engine or the acc turn on.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?  Very confused.

Have a look at www.installdr.com to see the proper wire colours for your vehicle. Verify with a meter each power and ground wire.
