i get a whining noise from the speakers when i turn the engine on. It gets louder when i push the gas pedal down. I just installed my amp, headuint and speakers brand new. But i cannot figure out what is making the whining noise?

Alternator interferance. Check that your power and ground leads on the amp are fat and well connected, especially the ground. It needs to go onto bare metal on the chassis. Power should run straight to the battery.

i have a good ground connection, right to the chasis of the car, it must be the power cable interfering near the alternator?

did you replace the factory speakers and they are running off of the amp?

or is the amp running subs and you have factory speakers running off of the deck?

have you tried wiring a return ground wire to the deck??

is the amp body on bare metal possibly??? or raised?

i have a amp running the speakers, which i replaced from factory, and installed new in doors. The deck is grounded at the same spot the amp is. The amp is sitting on the carpet of the car, not touching any bare metal. I do not ahve subs yet.

how long is the ground lead? are the amp ground and deck ground tied into together and grounded? have you tried not grounding them in exactly the same spot but close?

the ground lead is not long. the amp and deck ground are tied together and grounded. When i had the deck at a seperate ground, i got another noise comming from the speakers, tieing them together was the only way that solved this problem.

Make sure that you didnt run your RCAs for the amp right next to the power wire comming from battery

Especially if the RCAs are the cheap kind this will cause Motor noise to filter over...
