On my punch verification certificae for my 801S Rockford Fosgate amp it says it was tested at 14.203 volts.

Does that mean that I will not get the 890 RMS @ 2ohm and 62.773% efficiency unless I have my car running even if I have a blue top optima.  What do batteries charge up to; 12volts or 2.2volts per cell = 13.2volts?  Even if my car is on (04 hyundai elantra) will my alternater be putting out more than 14 volts or does it have to be at high engine RPM's with a stock amp?

That's alot of questions.  I hope you can answer some of them.

To obtain the maximum stated value, your alternator would also have to output the same voltage.

Yes. . .

You are missing part of the puzzle. Battery's all have a maximum charging voltage for the Optima it is 13.3 to 15.0 max. The Optima does not have a maximum current input though as it relates to normal SLA batteries.

The maximum output voltage is dependant upon the maker. If you are currious, start the vehicle and measure the battery terminals with a DMM. That will tell you what it is currently putting out, without load.

To optain higher than the stated value I would have to increase the voltage output right?  Is it common to see SPL competitors output higher than 14.4v with aftermarket alternators?

Yes it is common. They have after-market altenators, and multiple batteries.

Are Capacitors common?  Do the amplifiers ever require more instantaneous amprege than what the alternator or batteries can provide?  Do you know how many amps and in how much time a battery can discharge at max.  When you hook these batteries in parallel it does increase the amount of current it can supply to the amps and thus eliminating the need for a capacitor right.
